DIY BurlesKoala 2020 goes online

Hello Koalas!

Turns out a pandemic can’t stop the, 2020 DIY BurlesKoalas. Our competitors have been using Lockdown to their advantage. They have been toiling away, using their creative juices to create truly unique acts to entertain!

While we have been waiting to see how restrictions around the country would change, it became apparent that an in person show would be near impossible. However, we have a cunning DIY idea to bring our show to life!

We will be hosting shows, live and in person shows, in multiple locations to give our DIY BurlesKoalas the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience. THEN, each performance, having been recorded, will feature in our online show where the judges will choose a winner!

DIY BurlesKoala Online Competition Show – Wednesday 16 December will see the culmination of all the competitors hard work in our live stream where our judges will score each performance and the next Great DIY BurlesKoala 2020, Runner Up, and our Inaugural DIY BurlesKoala Duo Winners will all be announce live online!

Who is competing?

With the impacts of COVID, restrictions, and life, we have had some competitors unable to continue in 2020. They will be invited back in 2021 to compete. We also had one of our competitors return to New Zealand, however we managed to find them a show to perform at ahead of the competition show!
